One of "Those" Days

    Its one of “those” days….

Right now, I’m somehat side tracked as I write this. With every other line, I swivel around to grap a wrinkled piece of clothing out of the laundry basket to fold. My back leans against my bed, still strewn with covers (yes, its almost 11 am and I have not made my bed). I do not feel well, and frankly if I look at those comfy unkept covers too long, I’ll be snoozing once again. All of my furniture (minus the bed I alluded to) a lamp and a screen everything else is out of my room- bits of furniture strewn threw out the house. My desk, with all of my posts ideas, bills, projects etc is in the living room, and frankly, I do not have the energy to get it. The carpets were cleaned a few days ago, and today is the day to move furniture back in their rightful homes, but I like the comfyness of the carpet, and could care less about getting up from it. All I want to do is sit and sleep.
    Ever have days like this?
Do you ever have days you just don’t “feel”like doing anything? I’m mean when I look at my to-do list of things to do before 3:30. theres only  FOUR things on it.  That’s it. FOUR.  Fold laundry. Put furniture back. Clean car. Work on crafts for an upcoming craft project. ONLY four things. And it’s 11:00 in the morning and only about half my laundry is done.
     Sigh….laundry

Then when I think of all that I need to do in the next 2 weeks- it just makes me want to cry.
Infact that’s all I want to do. Cry and sleep.
But I force myself to get up, get breakfast, shower and start the day. A nice cup of ice coffee tops me off and I feel better. I go back to my mound of laundry and hum a tune. Something has changed…
I don’t just feel better, I feel as if in the process of freshening up a whisper came into my soul. One that whispered a very strong and powerful truth. Its said “There is grace for today.”Indeed there is grace for today. There are mercies anew everymorning. And THAT INCLUDES this morning. Mercies. I can, in my miserable-want-to-whine-and-complain-and- cry- and -sleep-state have hope, because for his children God has mercies everyday. I can ruminate on the fact that I’m called as a child of God. The Rose of Sharon, Prince of Peace, King Almighty, Holy of Holies, has CALLED me to be a child. I am his, daughter, choosen, redeemed. He who sends the rain down on the righteous and the unrighteous is a gracious father- who loves me. (And even when I complain about the rain, like I did today….when I wanted to vacuum my car but couldn’t while it was raining…he reminds me of his kindness!)
So when you are weak and tired- Look up! When you are exhausted – look to the Hills! See the magnificent King in all his glory! Gaze up at the wonderful and almighty God! See your Heavenly Father!!!!
” The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” – Lamentations 3:22-24

…For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust…” -Matthew 5:45

” I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” – Psalm 120:1-2

Devotion: The Jealous Warrior Lion

“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name. -Ezekiel 39:25

“He is jealous for me, loves like a hurricane I’m a tree, bending beneath the weight of his love and mercy…” – David Crowder

The word jealous is a wonderous word, especially when it comes to Jesus. He is a majestic king jealous for his bride. Passionately seeking to protect her, care for her, guide her, make her perfect- he is jealous for her. He wants only her- only his bride – the church- will suit him. He won her (heart) by dying for her, and desires that she love him only. She is HIS and  HIS alone. Her dress of brillant white is just the inescapable glory of his righteousness radiating on her being. Stunning, he cannot help but to love her and hold her. And she, cannot help to love the protector, husband, wonderous king who spilit his blood for her. His sash, stain-blood washed linen, drapes over him, shrouding his warrior frame, victorous from having slain  sin and death. The majestic warrior and the magnificent bride unite together. And if she were to turn he would would stop at nothing, like a roaring hungry lion- to have the bride for which he died.

“I will greatly rejoice in The Lord my soul shall exult in my God
for he has clothed me in the garment of salvation;
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself like like a priest with a beautiful headress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts
and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up
so The Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
to sprout up from the nations. – Isaiah 61: 10-11

“Then I saw a new heave and a new earth,
for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,
and the sea was no more.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“Behold the dwelling place of God is with man.
He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,
and God himself will be with them as their God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more; neither shall there be
mourning, nor crying, nor pain, anymore,
for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21: 1-4

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.- Ephesians 5: 29- 27
